What are the Melonheads? Joseph Citro’s 2005 book Weird New England describes them as “small in stature, frail looking, with long spindly arms and fingers. Their teeth are crooked, blocky, and discolored. Their heads, their most conspicuous feature, are bald and bulbous and out of proportion with their stooped torsos."
Connecticut, Ohio, and Michigan each have their own tales of the dreaded Melonheads. With origins from various marginalized groupings of people in history, the Melonheads have arguably become feral and formed their own colonies in the forests of America.
Join us in this exploration of the insidious Melonheads and see how they rank against the pantheon of cryptids.
